SAN ANTONIO SPURS

Jeff Ayres signed a 2 year / $3.58 million contract with the San Antonio Spurs, including $3,578,750 guaranteed, and an annual average salary of $1,789,375.

After he joined to his new team  the experts thoughts that the Spurs will likely not ask much of jeff . Tim Duncan and Tiago Splitter are returning next season -- as are Boris Diaw, Matt Bonner and Aron Baynes -- so San Antonio is not short on big men. jeff is just another big body and while he will see the court, especially in the regular season when Duncan's minutes are limited, the power forward will get as much playing time as he earns. That means outplaying Diaw and Baynes and being the more physical alternative to Bonner's shooting.

strengths and weaknesses

One of Ayres’ biggest weaknesses is that he’s not much of an interior presence on the defensive end. He’s a solid athlete who affects the perimeter defense more than post defense. He also rebounds well. But he just doesn’t do well protecting the rim, and I don’t know if those hands are still an issue.
