in july 2014 Spurs confirmed an initial report by Ben Hunt, and fan-favorite Bonner will remain with San Antonio for at least the 2014-15 season. His deadly 3-point shooting gives Gregg Popovich a unique weapon off the bench, but Bonner doesn't have a big enough role to warrant owning in fantasy leagues.

Bonner applied for Canadian citizenship in February 2009
The fact Bonner, a former member of the Toronto Raptors and current forward with the San Antonio Spurs, has been unsuccessful in procuring his Canadian citizenship, despite getting the ball rolling back in 2008, upsets Rautins to no end.
I see a lot of Canadians who are less Canadian than Matt Bonner. His daughter’s Canadian. His wife’s Canadian. His grandfather’s Canadian. He’s got a home here. When he’s not playing for the San Antonio Spurs, he’s here (in Toronto). "" the head coach""
really, doesn’t it seem like adding Bonner to the Canadian team is a good enough reason to push his citizenship through? They haven’t medaled in international competition since 2001′s FIBA Americas Championship, so they need the help.

Matt Bonner Resigns with San Antonio
the San Antonio Spurs agreed to a 4 year, (approximately) $14 million contract with shooter Matt Bonner (number Who Cares on the Big Board).
I'm not going to waste much time here. As a Mavericks fan I am THRILLED that the Spurs resigned Bonner for two reasons: 1.) I get to see him attempt to guard Dirk Nowitzki 16 times over the next four years. 2.) There was talk that the Mavericks would be interested in Bonner and this will hopefully prevent me from living the nightmare that would be seeing Bonner in a Mavs uniform. Seriously, though, $14 million for a 6-7 would-be center, one trick pony who isn't really that good at his trick? For $2 million more the Spurs could have signed Kyle Korver who is a much better shooter. Bonner fits into the Spurs system and Coach Popovich seems to like him so I guess there's chemistry to consider. But that's a lot of money for a guy who should be a 10th man on a good team.
